On 25 May 2022 at the Battambang office, 10 Buddhist monks from a different monastery in Battambang province were trained to become Monk Peer Educators on Buddhist approaches to response to health (HIV/AIDS) and child protection, education, and CCA agriculture. The training was facilitated by Battambang Provincial Health Officer (PHO), District Women and Children Consultative Committee (DWCCC), Commune Committee for Women and Children (CCWC), and SCC staff skilled in CCA Agriculture. Under the fund support from Bread for the World | Brot für die Welt (BFDW). Significantly, those Buddhist monks play an important role in educating people who are at high risk of HIV transmission, supporting orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), and motivating SCC’s beneficiaries to improve their livelihood.
